How to Create a Shutdown Icon in Windows 10 on Desktop in 2020.


Shutdown option on desktop is really a time saver. It has been seen that most of the professionals put shutdown option directly on desktop to save time.

Let's learn step by step method How to Create a Shutdown icon in Windows 10 on Desktop in 2020.

1. Go to the desktop.
2. Right-click anywhere on the desktop.
3. Select New > Shortcut.
4. The Shortcut window will open.
5. Type “shutdown –s –t 00”. Where S = Shutdown, T = Timer, 00 is the timer to shut down.
Note:
Instead of " 00 " one can set the custom values, for eg. If you want to shutdown the computer after 30 min then type the syntax as " shutdown -s -t 30 " without inverted commas, when execute the shortcut system will shutdown exactly by 30 minutes.

6. Click on Next, type the name “Shutdown” for this shortcut, and click Finish.
7. The shutdown shortcut icon will add on the desktop.
8. This shortcut will directly shut down the system from the desktop.
